TAMPA, Fla. – Left-wing environmentalists and environmental group Captains for Clean Water are once again attacking Florida farmers.

The group is calling for people to sign a petition attacking sugar farmers, urging them to drop a lawsuit against the EAA Reservoir. Their false premise is that sugar farmers want to hog all the water in the reservoir south of Lake Okeechobee.

However, this is a joint lawsuit by the City of West Palm Beach, Lake Worth Drainage District, the Florida Farm Bureau Federation and the Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association. It is arguing that the Army Corps of Engineers must give all of southern Florida the water they were promised by the U.S. in a 2000 clause.

These groups hate the idea of former President Donald Trump’s energy independent and pro-farmer agenda. Sen Jay Collins, R-Tampa, sounded off in support of the Trump administration’ successful track record on these issues.
