William Clardy, a sixth grade student at East Coweta Middle School, has been named the First Place District Winner in the Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest, hosted by the VFW’s Pless-Jackson MOH Post 2667. Clardy’s essay, submitted by his teacher Amanda Burdette, was selected as the top entry from District 10, which includes seven VFW posts. This year’s contest theme was “My Voice in America’s Democracy.” He was honored at a recent VFW Post 2667 meeting, where Commander Don Herr presented him with a certificate and a monetary award.
